And yet another update

I think some readers might get the impression that this blog is dead since I haven't posted anything new for over a month, but I assure you, dear reader that this space is still very much alive. I confess that I have been a bit too lazy to blog lately, and of course any free time I had was used for studying, or at least attempting to. You see, I am a rather expert time waster. I can spend an hour playing with my fingernails. There are plenty of distractions around, like the internet, the refrigerator, my bass and my bed. The bed, in my opinion is one of the most tempting distractions. Picture this: You're trying to study on hot Sunday afternoon with no air-conditioning and you're getting sleepier by the minute, concentration dwindling which each passing second. Then you go into your room, see your nice comfy bed with its nice soft pillows, lie on it, turn on the air conditioner and fall asleep. And then you wake up three hours later and feel pissed at yourself for wasting so much time. This happens to me every Sunday without fail. So in the end I end up studying for only a few hours instead of the whole day as intended.

Anyway too much has happened since the last time I updated so I'm not going to bother mentioning everything. The last eventful thing that happened? Yesterday's Swimming Gala. Five years in this school and this was the only time I actually participated, and I did so just so that I could have something worth mentioning in the pathetic "sports" section in my testimonial. I didn't really expect much though as I'm not a veteran swimmer, plus my back injury hadn't fully recovered. I stayed back and tried swimming for the first time in over a month, and then realized that I took twice as long to finish off a couple of laps. No, my super slow lap times wasn't due to lack of practice, it was because I couldn't push myself with a nagging pain somewhere in my back. So then the next day I took some painkiller before leaving and believe me, the stuff works. I could swim at my fastest without much pain. Of course once the painkiller wore off the already-existing pain increased two fold, but it was worth it. Both my events were relay events: 4X25m medley relay and 4X50 freestyle relay. We were last in the medley, but OWNED in the freestyle relay. Yes, we got a GOLD, people! I'm so proud of myself xD New record too! Turns out I'm faster than I thought I was. I know this probably isn't a very big deal for all you veteran sportsmen/women out there, but this is my first ever proper medal for any sporting event, and more importantly, something I can stick in my testimonial.

Okay that's all for now, I shall try to update again as soon as possible.
