Stop playing with my kidneys

I heard a bunch of love songs playing on the radio today while in the car, and then i wondered: why is the heart always the organ associated with love? Who was the first person who came up with that?

And in malay the equivalent when it comes to love is 'hati' which people perceive to be the heart when it actually means liver. So does this mean that each language has their own special 'love organ'?

Imagine if the person who came up with this had used kidneys instead of heart. Then all the love songs would be like 'stop playing with me baby, you're breaking my kidneys.'

Schnitz

Having our BM oral test tomorrow. Apparently we're supposed to talk about any issue in front of sera with a partner, as long as it isnt sensitive. My partner's Razlan, and we've decided on piracy, mainly coz its what i did for my English oral last year and we're gonna use the isi from it and make stuff up along the way....though it's gonna sound fake and staged coz i'm not used to talking about these things in BM...

Put 'em in Overdrive

Okay so we made it to finals for band, only just though as we snagged fifth place. I think we could've done better though, and we certainly sounded better during practice - mainly because we had time to tune our amps just right. Which is why i think we should be given more time to set up our stuff, and a minute definitely isn't enough coz this isnt solo or duet singing were you hand 'em the mikes and they start singing straightaways....here you've gotta make sure all the volumes are just right, that no instruments are too loud and cover the rest of the band, and distortion levels...things like this. And guitar amps were used for vocals, and that made all the singing sound rather weird, like as though you had water stuck up your nose, if not terrible. They sounded a lot better during category b though...but whatever it is i'm happy that we got in. xD

I Predict A Riot

Parents won't let me go for paintball tomorrow coz someone got killed apparently for political reasons in KL and they're afraid things might start getting nasty all over..........but that's in KL!!! What are the odds of something like that happening in a paintball field in good ol' Subang???? Bloody hell if only people could just accept the voting results....

Bass Nuts Only

Ok so i just got a new bass teacher, and i hope this one stays coz he's pretty good. Can't remember his name though...

My first teacher was probably the best that I'd ever get, but that's the problem: he's so good that he's always got gigs and couldnt make it for half our lessons, and so decided to leave. He's Estranged's ex-bassist btw. My second teacher only stayed for three lessons coz he was gonna teach somewhere else, but he wasnt bad either. Taught me a different way of slapping.

So anyways I'm now a bit better at slapping and popping, and my new teacher taught me this nice funk riff from Jamiroquai, though my index finger's sore from all that popping and there's a bloody blister on it now so i cant pop till its gone...

On a different note, I wish they'd bring Rickenbacker basses here...they have the same vintage design as earlier vintage models. And the tone, ohmygod the tone...nothing else sounds like a Rickenbacker, the warm underlying lows with that signature mid-range punch...Franz Ferdinand's Bob Hardy uses a 60's 4000 series as his main axe and THAT is what gives the band their signature sound, or tone, or feel, or whatever you wanna call it. To sum it all up: I want one.

You Could Have It So Much Better

BM - 84
English - 83
Mod Maths - 97
Add Maths - 83
Chem - 80

Bio - 82
Physics - 78

Sejarah - 97
Moral - 75

I think getting straight A's for class test 1 should b
e pretty satisfying although my parents aren't happy with some of the borderline results. And of course Mr Yow let us re-sit Chem last week.

Then there was the Reaching Out Club trip to the bird park with the disabled people from Cheshire Home last weekend.

And for the first time in my five years in this school i'm actively taking part in one of the annual sports day events, but mainly coz i don't want the sports section in my school testimonial to be blank. =P
Right now i'm only a reserve though. Those events are 800m and 1500m long distance.
Oh, and i'm a yellow house flag bearer as well xD
