And yet another update

I think some readers might get the impression that this blog is dead since I haven't posted anything new for over a month, but I assure you, dear reader that this space is still very much alive. I confess that I have been a bit too lazy to blog lately, and of course any free time I had was used for studying, or at least attempting to. You see, I am a rather expert time waster. I can spend an hour playing with my fingernails. There are plenty of distractions around, like the internet, the refrigerator, my bass and my bed. The bed, in my opinion is one of the most tempting distractions. Picture this: You're trying to study on hot Sunday afternoon with no air-conditioning and you're getting sleepier by the minute, concentration dwindling which each passing second. Then you go into your room, see your nice comfy bed with its nice soft pillows, lie on it, turn on the air conditioner and fall asleep. And then you wake up three hours later and feel pissed at yourself for wasting so much time. This happens to me every Sunday without fail. So in the end I end up studying for only a few hours instead of the whole day as intended.

Anyway too much has happened since the last time I updated so I'm not going to bother mentioning everything. The last eventful thing that happened? Yesterday's Swimming Gala. Five years in this school and this was the only time I actually participated, and I did so just so that I could have something worth mentioning in the pathetic "sports" section in my testimonial. I didn't really expect much though as I'm not a veteran swimmer, plus my back injury hadn't fully recovered. I stayed back and tried swimming for the first time in over a month, and then realized that I took twice as long to finish off a couple of laps. No, my super slow lap times wasn't due to lack of practice, it was because I couldn't push myself with a nagging pain somewhere in my back. So then the next day I took some painkiller before leaving and believe me, the stuff works. I could swim at my fastest without much pain. Of course once the painkiller wore off the already-existing pain increased two fold, but it was worth it. Both my events were relay events: 4X25m medley relay and 4X50 freestyle relay. We were last in the medley, but OWNED in the freestyle relay. Yes, we got a GOLD, people! I'm so proud of myself xD New record too! Turns out I'm faster than I thought I was. I know this probably isn't a very big deal for all you veteran sportsmen/women out there, but this is my first ever proper medal for any sporting event, and more importantly, something I can stick in my testimonial.

Okay that's all for now, I shall try to update again as soon as possible.

It's cool to hate

I hate a lot of things I hate a lot of people that are lame
I like to hate stuff, cause then I don't have to try and make a change
I hate teachers, I hate school,
I hate the cheerleaders and anyone who's cool
I hate the office, I hate the quad, don't wanna learn nothing
I wanna be a slob

It's cool to hate,
I don't like anything and I like that fine
I hate everything, I even hate you too, so FUCK YOU!

I'm always thinking bad, I never have anything good to say
I'd rather tear things down than build them up,
it's easier that way
I hate the jocks and I hate the geeks,
I hate the trendies but I also hate the freaks
I hate Dr. Martens and Muscle T's
I'm only happy when I'm in my misery

It's cool to hate,
Liking something's just a waste of time
I hate everything, I even hate me too, so FUCK YOU!

I'll cut you down and give you lip
Being positive's so unhip
I'll cut you down cause I'm a fool
Being positive's so uncool

I hate the jocks, and I hate the geeks
I hate the trendies but I also hate the freaks
I hate your band, and I hate T.V
I'm only happy when I'm in my misery

It's cool to hate,
I hate everything, I even hate you too, so FUCK YOU!!

And we have an update

It's been quite a while since I last updated, over a week and a half if I remember correctly. However, I have a very good reason for this. You see, I had to complete this...thing called the Pendidikan Moral Kerja Amal. I'm pretty sure most of you would know what this is, but for those who don't, it's sorta like a Moral project. A bloody tedious and annoying one at that, for it involves writing eight essays and four reports. The essays weren't that hard, but there was a specific way that you have to write them. The good thing was that we could write about anything, but you had to include one of the '36 holy values' in this essay, and my teacher wants it written in the same way you do in an exam, and that's an arse to do because you have to get everything right. Then there's the reports. Each report's gotta have an objective, preparations, what you actually did and the uh...effect of that thing you did. And there are keywords that you MUST use. And you have to do reports on the most ridiculous things, like your parent's birthdays. And then you need at least four photos. And here's the really absurd part - you need either a certificate or letter(which you type and get your parents, teacher, et al to sign)of acknowledgement to prove that you actually did it. It's like as though the four pictures aren't proof enough. Last but not least, there's the deco part, the one where you have to get creative, which is something I'm not very good at, and this took me the longest to do. So what I did was the 'cut and paste method', and when I was done I thought it looked pretty good. Until my dad walked by and said that it looked like something you did in pre-school.

Anyway enough about that stupid project. I'm not even done with it yet because of some stuff I need to clarify with the teacher. And it's probably because of this dumb thing that I didn't enjoy my holidays as much as I hoped to. I didn't go out as much as I would've liked to. Why? Because my mom wants to see me do some studying before she lets me do anything else. And I spent most of the holidays on the bloody project, so I didn't do much studying. I'm a really good time waster too so I spent most of the free study time I had stoning. Had band practice on Tuesday. It went pretty much okay. C'mon, them form threes are pros.

It's really hard to believe that school starts today. Time flies when you've got nothing to do. Okay I'm gonna go watch Jumper now.

1)What do you want the most now?
Does this refer to what I want materialistically or emotionally? Materialistically, I want a new guitar. And a car. And a gaming PC. Emotionally, well I'd rather keep that to myself, but feel free to ask me personally.

2)Who is the person you trust the most?
My parents, obviously.

3)Are you in love?
I don't know, maybe, it depends on how you'd define love. Personally, I think love can only exist if it works both ways.

4)If you have a dream come true. What is it?
I've got a lot of dreams, but the strongest one would be to form a band and get rich making music.

5)Do you believe in seeing a rainbow after the rain?
It is scientifically proven that rainbows DO appear after the rain, so yes.

6)Whats your goal for this year?
Get straight A1's for SPM. If that's possible.

7)Do you believe in eternity?
Nope.

8)Have you ever broken a person's heart that he/she wanna commit suicide?
Nah.

9)What feelings do you love most?
Happiness, love, whatever positive feelings of elation that could make a person happy.

10)What are the requirements from your other half?
I've never thought about this because I've never had an other half, so I don't know. At least for now.

11)What kinds of feelings you hate the most?
Depression. Good thing it hardly strikes.

12)Do you cherish every friendship of yours?
Yeap.

13)What do you want to do in the future?
Get into some high ranking uni, and then get a job that requires me to do things that I love doing. Like playing bass. Or racing a car. Or maybe, just maybe, get selected to be a new presenter for Top Gear and join Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond.

14)What is the most important thing in your life?
Family and friends. And happiness.

15)What do you feel last night?
Normal.

16)Who do you hope to always be there for you?
I haven't really thought about this, but I guess it would have to be my family and friends.

17)When do you think the world will end?
When the Sun runs out of its supply of hydrogen.

18)The world ends tomorrow. What will you do?
I'd do the things that I really want to do, like try to beat the speed of sound in a Bugatti Veyron, eat the finest food in the world, and maybe surrender my virginity to the sexiest girl in the world. Oh, and dunk Mr Sera's head in a sewer.

19)What do you think of the person who tagged you?
I don't really know her that well, but I'll have a go anyway. I'd say she's quiet, easy going, and nice to hang out with.

20)What do you want to know right now?
Ah, ask me personally if you want to know this one. xD

Then add 6 people in you list and list them out at the end of the post.
Notify them in their chatbox that he/she has been tagged! =)

Relief? I don't think so.

Mid-year's finally over. At last. Logically, this means that I should be happy. Ironically though I am feeling rather depressed at the moment, which is really stupid because I want to be able to enjoy this short snippet of freedom, this holiday which would probably be the only one I'd be able to lie around guiltlessly doing whatever I wanted, but no, my parents want me to STUDY. FULL TIME. EVERYDAY. The only time off I'd get would be this weekend, which really isn't enough considering the fact that I'd been making my brain go into overdrive for over month and a half. And I suspect this atrocity to be the main source of my depression. My mom even made me do a bloody timetable, not for the holidays but for normal school days, and I find this absurd because it's not like I'm even going to bother following it.

Well anyway today I watched Speed Racer at the Curve with Kevin, Khairin and Shen Deng. It's a pretty good movie, with a decent storyline and especially fantastic special effects. Oh and there's plenty of racing action too, and being a car nut I'd say those were the best parts.

I checked out the new Bentley headquarters yesterday and god that place is like guitar heaven man!!!! They have an entire room for each brand of guitars, a nice
big room full of basses and another room for drums. I found the room where all the Ibanez guitars were and started drooling immediately. They have almost all the Ibanez models, even the hollow body ones! So I tried out all the models I'd shortlisted that were available there and was pretty much satisfied with most of them - typical exceptional playability from Ibanez coupled with drop-dead good looks. Unfortunately though the gorgeous limited-edition Sakura model wasn't there and apparently if I wanted to order it I'd have to wait a few months. I'll check its availability with The Guitar Store first though before deciding on anything else. Then I found this semi-acoustic hollow body electric guitar, picked it up, plugged it in and fell in love with it immediately. The clean sound is fantastic and it's really warm and mellow which makes it perfect for blues, something I'm really into. Even when I go heavy there's still a nice sort of warmth to it, and this sort of warmth is something you just can't get when you use a solid body electric. It's got a great colour and a nice feel to it too. I really like this one, and at RM1550 a pop before discount it's reasonably priced, but the problem is that it's not so good for speed picking, which is understandable because it's not designed to be a metal axe. So now I'm up my arse trying to decide between one of the guitars I'd already shortlisted, this, or this and a cheaper solid body guitar. Or maybe I should just get a Fender if I can afford one. But anyway here it is, so let me know what you think!

F***********!!!!!

I quite seriously screwed up my Add Math Paper Two today. Never, ever in my entire academic life have i ever screwed up an exam as badly as this one. Horror of all horrors, I even left two questions unanswered...bloody hell. And to what do I attribute this lack of competency to? No, it's not lack of revision or preparation because I had everything at my fingertips, which makes things WORSE. I was perfectly prepared, but the one I lacked was SLEEP. Yes, I was so sleepy that try as I might, I couldn't get my brain to function at full speed and capacity. Which means I took a lot longer to answer the questions.

The most f***ed up part is that we had four days off and I spent THREE of them on Add Math. So on the last day I tried to make up for the other subjects I neglected by studying Chem until the wee hours of the morning, a really brainless decision when my Add Math exam was on the next day. And since I was rather unsatisfied with my performance on Paper One, I decided to release the tension by gobbling down two packets of nasi lemak during break. And a whole cup of iced coffee in a failed attempt to feel more awake. That together with a few Mentos chucked into my mouth makes for a very effective laxative. Which means that yes, I unfortunately had to take a crap again halfway through Add Math Paper Two. I only had an hour left after I was done emptying my bowels. And that caused me to panic. Big time. I started Section B and when the first question was a graph, I skipped that, and then when I went to the next question my brain couldn't make sense of anything, so I went on to the next, and then the next and so on and at one point I just felt like ripping the paper to bits and throwing it out the window.

Anyway I don't think the time I spent in the dunny was a major factor to my screwing up, I think it's more because I used the 'tank' approach - keep doing a question until you find a solution or at least come close to finishing, no matter how hard it is, and by the time I was done with Section A I'd almost used up about an hour and a half. Which was really stupid because anyone with the least bit of common sense would do all the easy ones first. God I'd BETTER do well in Chem.

Trigonometric nonsense

It's 1.30am and at this hour I would usually be in bed, dreaming about how I'd change the way the cafeteria was run if I ruled the world. But no, the second half of the exams resuming next week means I have to sacrifice my dream time for hours of late-night intensive revision, and I've just finished Add Maths. Trigonometric functions, to be exact. I spent over three hours on this bloody topic but ended up stoning for half the time. Why? Because it's excruciatingly confusing. It's mostly substitution, really, but there are so many options that you'd stick one thing in and go 'am I doing this right?' when technically you are but for that particular question you should be sticking in that other thing that can also be sticked in, so you either wind up in a dead end or taking a reaaaally long time to complete it. All this headache-inducing madness made me get up and do something else every twenty minutes or so, therefore taking me over three hours to urm...get myself 'acquainted' with this topic. Which means I've now got some idea of how to work things, when I was clueless before I started. I was halfway doing questions when my brain backfired and said 'screw this shit, it's almost half past one, I'm going to shut myself off.' Oh well, if it does come out, this question's only worth six marks, and I'd be able to do some of it. At least I've covered the whole of Add Maths. It took me three days, and I should have started on Chem today, but having wasted half of Friday doing things I can't remember, I had to spend the day finishing off the last of it. Which means I have tomorrow to cram in Chem and Bio. Joy.

Well at least the first week is over, which means I'm through the worst of it. I think I did okay for everything. Mod Math was the easiest, though I couldn't finish off the last bit of the last question, and that cost me three marks. Not that it was hard, it was really quite easy, but halfway through the exam I had to take a crap, and that made me lose ten minutes. I think I could've finished it off though, had it not been for Mr Yow yelling '10 more minutes' and then '5 more minutes', causing me to lose my head.

I've got Chem, Bio, Moral and EST to look forward to next week. Great. I'm going to grab some shut-eye now, otherwise I'll wake up at noon again tomorrow. Or later. And that's a no-no.
