Happy Chinese New Year
So we went back to my Ipoh, my dad's hometown as usual for this chinese new year. The journey there was surprisingly smooth and therefore only took two hours, compared to the usual minimum five hours of bumper-to-bumper traffic during previous trips. This is mainly because them boffins at our kerajaan have so kindly decided to add a third lane to the two lane highway. This upgrade was completed just before the start of the chinese new year and of course, in due time for the coming elections. The irony of the whole thing though is that the jam began when we reached the town of ipoh itself.
Anyways this CNY was pretty much like previous ones, with the usual meeting up at my auntie's place, lunches, dinners, gambling and fireworks. Unfortunately though those big, red, noisy five-minute firecrackers usually set off to usher in the new year were unavailable this year so we had to make do with those big rockets that exploded in pretty little multi-coloured patterns in the sky. And the first of the big rockets fired into a neighbour's balcony, exploding there in all its multi-coloured glory and we thought maybe we shouldnt use them big rockets after all...and then we saw the rocket's stick still in the wine bottle. Turned out the stick had snapped and my cousin had cellotaped the two halves back together.
Lost twenty bucks when i could have won fifty, mostly due to greed. All in all though this was pretty much an enjoyable new year. Could've eaten more though...

Update
Been really busy so didn't really have time to update in the past few weeks, but since there's so much work being given to us now that we're in form five, I doubt that I would very often.
Anyway our final school year has started two weeks ago, though somehow this year doesnt feel like a new one like the last four years, but more like just a continuation of last year. It's like as though the year-end holidays were just some really long mid-term break. Maybe it's the studying, because this particular year end holiday was the only one where I felt obliged to study, and did so almost everyday. Of course much of the studying was mainly due to my mom making me do four hours a day, starting with the first day of the holidays, and I actually wanted to. However, my lack of self-discipline prevented me from doing so and I therefore skipped it whenever I could, resulting in me covering only FIVE CHAPTERS of add maths in TWO MONTHS. So of course I try to make up for it now by reading through the day's lessons if I do have the time, though I doubt that would be enough. Oh, and we will be tested on last years work along with what we've covered this year in our first chem and sejarah class tests.
On a lighter note, I've noticed people complaining about the new canteen operators, mostly in terms on pricing, though some have found the food unsatisfactory. Personally I think that the food tastes way better than last year's, and THAT is the most important thing. For me anyway. xD Which is why I'm not complaining about the pricing. I'd much rather have a satisfying lunch at the current prices than pay a few cents less for rubbish food. The black pepper chicken served last year's a perfect example of that. But then there's no more prawn mee now......
